My Spiritual Journey
The beginning
Almost three decades ago I had an abrupt "awakening" that was both awe inspiring and terrifying at the same time because there was no one who understood what I was going through and there was no internet to help guide me. I was driving down the road on the way to work when suddenly a veil was lifted from my eyes. It happened in an instant and I suddenly saw the aura of every living thing (trees, plants, people.) Not only did I see this glow on everything, but it was connecting to me. I felt part of this living web of existence, and it created a widening of my consciousness. I remember an intense feeling of love for myself and all of life come over me. This feeling has never left me though it is not near as intense as it was, I continue to have an immense gratitude for every day that I am walking this earth.
What followed
I was forever changed that day. I went into work with starry eyes and felt like an alien on a foreign planet. Everyone seemed in a daze just moving through life unaware of the magical experience they were living. I tried talking to my closest friends about how I was feeling, and they looked at me like I was crazy. No one could relate. I didn't have internet to connect with anyone who might understand what I was going through (this was in the late 90's.) I was on my own....
My purpose here
Over the years, I slowly blended back into the daily grind going through the motions, but one thing never left me. I still felt connected. I still felt grateful to be here. Then 6 years ago, I began researching spiritual things on the internet and connecting to people all over the world. I have taken many classes, workshops, and programs that helped with my journey. I have had multiple transformations, faced my inner shadows, shattered old programming, healed childhood wounds and welcomed spiritual gifts...and it is ongoing. It never ends. My purpose here in Soul Song Rising is to help others along this journey as I continue mine.
